Racine is the county seat of Racine County. It is the fifth-largest city in Wisconsin, located on the shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Root River. Racine is approximately 30 miles south of Milwaukee and 60 miles north of Chicago, Il. Just about anything you could imagine doing is within an hour drive. (Opera, camping, museums, sports of all kinds, fine dining, hiking, etc…)
Racine has the finest harbor in the area, with facilities for all types of boats and boaters. Downtown offers a wide variety of shops and restaurants. The neighborhoods have character with a variety of architecture styles, each with its own distinct feel and personality. Racine is part of the Racine Unified School District.
