Maturing Americans face challenges and decisions that greatly affect their lifestyles. First Weber developed a unique resource program, Seniors First, to meet the specific needs of seniors and their families. Our team of professionals provides you with options and answers, advice and direction, and can help turn confusing challenges into welcome choices.
Since 83% of seniors are homeowners, housing is not only a major concern but also a valued asset. Due to the many options available in today’s marketplace – condominiums, retirement communities, apartments, assisted living facilities and more – seniors need the assistance of trained professionals to help them make the right housing decisions. Seniors First will help you with housing options and all of your real estate needs. Many of our experienced Realtors® have completed specialized training through the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council (SAREC) and hold the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation.
For older persons, having control over health and financial decisions was never an issue when they were younger. The inability to manage personal affairs, however, is a major fear for many seniors and their families. Seniors First recognizes these special needs and will refer you to “elder law” attorneys and financial representatives when needed. Our resource team of professionals will advise you on the legal steps and products that you will want to consider before proceeding with your move.
Despite health problems brought on by the normal aging process, seniors want to continue living independently. But adult children are stressed and worry when parents can no longer manage stairs, prepare meals, or do household chores. Seniors First works with supportive community services that address these needs. Professional consultants will assist you with in-home services and safety modifications and work with you and your family to decide when alternative housing is needed.
Once the decision to move is made, the process of organizing and packing can be an overwhelming task for seniors. And often, family members are not available to assist them. If you find yourself in this situation, Seniors First will refer you to a service provider that understands your needs and can take care of the details. These professionals assist you in deciding what to take, sell, or give away; handle all packing; schedule and supervise the movers; and clean at your former residence. Fees and services are charged on an hourly basis but initial consultations and estimates are free.
First Weber Group is pleased to provide complete assistance to seniors and their families. Seniors First is available through our Relocation Division and is offered to seniors making local or long distance moves. With today’s mobile society, it is common for family members to live in different cities and states and adult children often experience the difficulty and stress of providing care long distance. Our comprehensive program is the perfect solution. Through our established network of service providers, we can assist you at or from any location in the United States.
