Augustus “Gus” Doyle is the oldest son of Wisconsin Governor James Doyle and First Lady Jessica Doyle.
After graduating from Madison West High School, Gus earned his Bachelors degree in psychology and education from Morehouse College, a four-year historically Black liberal arts college for men in Atlanta, GA.
Gus has been a proud Wisconsin resident for over 25 years. He was a former counselor and coach in the Madison School District and is currently a realtor for First Weber Group in Madison, WI.
Gus and his younger brother Gabe have played an active role in their father's campaign for Governor and figured prominently in several of the TV ads. In addition, Gus was the first Doyle to publicly endorse Senator Obama's bid for the Democratic Party nomination. Gus was the keynote speaker at the first meeting of the Students for Obama on the UW Madison Campus and hosted the November visit to Madison by Senator Obama organized by the University of Wisconsin-Madison chapter of Students for Barack Obama.
Since 2003, Gus has served on Wisconsin's Juvenile Justice Commission, through the Commission funds are made available to local units of government and community organizations for high priority projects addressing youth needs in the community. He also serves on the Disproportionate Minority Contact committee (DMC) in which social, economic, and legal parameters are examined and evaluated in state systems.
Gus is currently active in a number of local organizations and volunteers in many various local events and activities. Madison Area Growth Network (MAGNET), Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, Madison Network for Black Professionals (MNBP), and the Urban League of Greater Madison to name a few.
One can often find Gus actively organizing a social networking event or at a University of Wisconsin Football/Basketball game.
Gus is a proud parent to his 8-year-old son, Asiah.
