The city of Hayward is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Northwoods and all of Wisconsin as a whole. The population of Hayward’s year-round residents is 2,318 with this number increasing during the summer months.

The Fresh Water Hall of Fame is the easiest attraction to spot in Hayward because of the giant 140+ foot sculpture of a Musky. This museum was created for the 50 million anglers across the country who enjoy fishing for sport. The giant Musky has been named a “Shrine to Anglers” and provides an incredible view of Hayward and the surrounding lakes. In the museum itself, you’ll find over 50,000 fishing artifacts from tackle to pictures. There are also 300 mounted fish and about 1000 vintage motors on display. The museum offers membership programs where you can get free admission for supporting the museum.

This Northwoods zoo offers kids the chance to play with the baby animals and pet the deer. There are many animals on display at the zoo including tigers, goats, tortoises, deer, cows, and much more.
