On the banks of the Trempealeau River is the City of Whitehall. With a population of 1,558 residents, Whitehall is the county seat of Trempealeau County.

Whitehall is surrounded by natural terrain that creates scenic valleys and tree-lined ridges. One of the ways to explore the area’s natural beauty is to drive along U.S. 53 or WI-121. These highways run around the Whitehall area and are perfect for sightseeing or a relaxing Sunday drive. Within the city, you can explore one of the four different parks that offer everything from gardens to play areas and even firepits. The parks also have standard playground equipment and sports facilities like baseball diamonds and volleyball courts. On the north side of the city is the Whitehall Public Golf Course. This 9-hole, par 36 course is the perfect place to get a quick round in after work with some friends.

The City of Whitehall is also home to some great local food and drink spots. Ffat’s Brewing Co. is a small local brewery that creates brews all across the spectrum from lagers to ales. The Brewery itself is located on Main St. and the taproom is located on Blair St. New beers are brewed weekly, so make sure to stop in and find your new favorite beer. Another local favorite is the Dog House Bar & Grill. Located at the intersection of Abrams and Dodge, the Dog House serves hot sandwiches and appetizers in a laid-back and fun environment. It’s definitely worth the trip if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat.
