The City of Hartford is located in both Washington and Dodge counties. The entire population of 14,223 residents live in Washington County as the Dodge County portions consist of industrial and commercial buildings.

Outside of the city limits, there are many different ways to get out and enjoy a beautiful day. Pike Lake is located just east of the city and is a great place to fish, swim, and play. It is also a great spot for ice fishing during the winter months. The adjacent Pike Lake State Park offers some great hiking paths and some beautiful views of nature. Golf enthusiasts will love the Hartford area. The Hartford Golf Club plays 6,519 yards from the blue tees and provides a great golf experience for players of any level. Just to the south of Hartford GC is one of the top-rated courses in the state, Erin Hills. Erin Hills was the site of the 117th U.S. Open and offers stunning views and challenging holes. While Erin Hills does have a price to match its fame, it’s definitely something to add to the bucket list.
