Sitting on Interstate 90 only 20 minutes to La Crosse and the Mississippi River, Sparta is a natural location for some healthy industry. Along with them are US Silica Sand Mining and Multi-Stack which builds and sells industrial size heating and air conditioning units around the world. Many other businesses call Sparta home as well.
Sparta has proudly served our US Military and their civilian support staff as a host city to Fort McCoy for over 100 years. Soldiers and their families live and play as welcome members of our community. Fort McCoy offers tours to groups of 15 or more Monday through Friday, and these tours usually last up to one hour.
