Medford is located in the southeast corridor of Taylor County and has a population of 4,326. Medford is also the county seat of Taylor County.

The fair has many different events for patrons to enjoy including demonstrations, livestock judging, live music, and a demolition derby. There are also special events put on by the fair, like Cans For a Cause. Participants are allowed to create a can sculpture that will be judged and displayed at the fairgrounds. The sculptures are taken down after the fair is over and the canned goods used are donated to local food pantries. The 5K Fun Run is known as the first major event of the fair and is a fun way to kick off the weekend.
